Eastern New Mexico Blue Grass & Old Tyme Music Association

Our July Music Program went well.  With the new ceiling in the Barn the sound was good.  We had 37 in attendance with 7 musicians performing.  All went well and everyone enjoyed the program.

We are in the planning stages of 2011 Fest.  If you have any ideas, would like to get involved in planning or working, now is the time to contact one of the officers or attend our monthly meeting.

Once again it is time for our Fair Gig.  If you want to play call me and let me know the timeframe.  I am very busy and I don't have time to call you, so if you want to play call me and let me know.  I will not be calling anyone to set up the schedule.  The dates are August 11-14.  Let me know when you can play and I will build the schedule accordingly.

Also, we are having a benefit for Anthony Benavidez.  He is in need of financial help for kidney dialysis.  We are having a pot luck supper on September 25 at 5:30 p.m. with Buy Your Pie with or without Ice Cream for $3.00 a slice.  A pie auction will be held afterward to auction all remaining pies.  All proceeds will be donated to Anthony.

Liz Smith is holding a raffle of a framed picture and it will be raffled off at this program.  All proceeds will go to help Anthony pay medical bills.

The next business meeting will be held on August 15th, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Bluegrass Office at 307 E. High.  I strongly encourage all members and musicians to attend these meetings.  We need to have fresh ideas.  Remember, these meetings are open to all members who are willing to come and participate in our Club business.  If you do not attend you have no gripe.

Our next Music Program will be on August 28th.  We will supply the coffee and tea.  Bring a friend, a snack, or just yourself and come join the fun.
